Crusader Football - JV Team (5th/6th Graders)

2017 Flag football is a safe sport that teaches the rules and fundamentals of football.  We play 8-man rules.  All equipment is provided by the school (except for individual players’ cleats or mouth guards, if you wanted to use those).  I’d encourage any one to come out and give it a try if they are interested.  We will work hard to make this a great experience for all the boys on the team!   Practices start the 2nd week of October - after school from 3:00 until 4:30.  Plan on 2-3 practices (or games) per week.  It is a short season, so it will be a commitment most days after school.  I am looking for a coach.  Once I finalize practice dates I will let you know!  If anyone knows of someone who would be interested in coaching, please let me know.   I’d like to start practices on Monday, October 9th.  Right now I’m checking to see who would be interested in playing so that I can get a feel for what numbers we are working with.  Let me know if you have any questions! Mr T

Our league has put together an 8 game schedule against other 5th and 6th grade teams.  You can see the dates below.  Due to conflicting schedules, we have three games the very first week.  After that the schedule is a little more spaced out.  Games are always at 3:30 unless otherwise noted.   5th/6th Football Schedule:

10/24 - Away vs St. John’s 6th
10/25 - Away vs Red Hill
10/27 - Home vs St. Paul’s 6th
11/1 - Home vs Zion
11/8 - Home vs Salem 6th
11/10 - Away vs Costa Mesa - 3:00 game
11/15 - Home vs St. Paul’s 6th
11/17 - Home vs Costa Mesa

7th/8th Football Information:

Practice starts Tuesday, September 5th!

2:00 (after class gets out) - gather at the front field.  Most days we will run down to Arovista Park (our home field for games) and return to campus by 3:45.  Plan on practice every day from 2:00 - 3:45.  Make as many practices as you can - part of the time or the whole time.

Homework comes first!  Anyone behind in their work or failing their classes will be required to stay in the classroom study hall at 2:00 until they catch up!

GAMES - Games are set to start the week of September 12th.  They are always at 3:30.  If we are home, we set up down at Arovista Park.  If we are away, we need drivers to leave from school around 2:30 - 2:40 depending on location.  We will have 10 games, probably two per week.  The football playoffs will be the week of October 16th.

 What is Crusader Sports?

  null

The goal of our athletic program is to glorify God with the talents that he has given us.  We will play to win, but that will not be our main focus.  Instead we will encourage teamwork, fair play, and an overall healthy lifestyle.

null

One advantage to having a small school is that everyone interested will get to play, whether you're beginner or a veteran.  Schoolwork is of higher importance than our sports programs.  Students who do not get their job done in the classroom will not be allowed to play.

Christ Lutheran School is a member of the Lutheran Orange County Athletic League.  The league is made up of 16 elementary schools a lot like ours.
